The Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) Assessment is used to evaluate a learner’s ability to read, write, communicate, and apply basic numeracy skills required to successfully undertake a course of study.

Purpose of the LLN

The assessment helps education providers:

•    Confirm that a student’s skills are appropriate for their chosen course
•    Identify whether additional learning support may be beneficial
•    Meet entry and academic suitability requirements where applicable

If applying for a VET Student Loan, your LLN results may also be used as evidence of your academic suitability to undertake the course.
